So first off, woah! Whole new changelog running parallel to the mini-update! As for why I added it, I was just getting a bit tired of explaining every little change I made to the site here. I figured, instead of letting them go completely undocumented, I could catalogue them somewhere, and what better place to do it than a changelog? So there's its neat origin story.

Now, for where I've been. I know I was on the up and up for, well, basically the entire month up until a couple days ago, but I just get big bolts of energy for one thing sometimes, and then it when it runs out, I feel a bit exhausted. But, that's not the only reason I've been away. See, I've been working on researching something. What thing? Well, it's for a video! That's right! I'm announcing another project I probably won't follow through with! My specialty. If it does come out, you heard it here first: Alice in Wonderland.

And lastly, do you like my little intro? The "hi Sally" bit? It's a reference to a practice in Tarantino bloopers where actors were told to say hi to the editor, Sally Menke. I thought it was cute and I kinda want to adopt it as an intro. Hi again! I'm updating like crazy, I know, but I wanted to talk about some changes I've made / want to make to the site as of recent!

The first thing I added within the past couple days was hyperlinks to the individual updates in the update archive page. It was just getting to be too long and unnavigable.
‎
Next, I added some fun little redirects in old or unfinished pages. The first being the Under Construction! page, and the second being the Stop! page. I do plan on making a third one whenever I need it, which I may for the next couple features I'll be adding shortly, called Warning!. It'll basically just be explaining that the page you're about to enter is unfinished and so is gonna probably not be completely up-to-code with the rest of the site and will probably go through some major changes while the warning is still up.

And now for the things I want to add. Firstly, I know I mentioned it as a joke in an earlier update, but taking a page out of Mark Z. Danielewski's book (semi-literally) and filling Faith's Birthday Part 2 with footnotes explaining what I meant does actually sound pretty appealing. I might end up doing it honestly.

Next up are art and music showcase pages. I see the art page just sorta being a collage of a bunch of different art of mine alla my old website, whereas the music page would be more like the way the blog is set up currently as an index with links to individual albums. And speaking of the blog database, I'd like to visually overhaul that page as well.

Well, I think I learned my lesson.

Not everything can be a blog entry, and if I try to force it, it probably won't end well. Like, I can't see Archive Week being a treasured, or even really important entry at all. It's just not very good. It's boring, there's no real story, and there's not really a good aesthetic to go with it. Was it a good excuse to show old videos of mine? Yes. Was it a good blog entry? No. And I think that's the takeaway from all of this. That there's a time and a place for entries. And when nothing of note is going on, it's probably not the time, and at that point, the place is irrelevant.

Hello again. I just wanted to pop by and say a few things.
‎
First of all, you'll notice the new blog entry. Surprisingly, I actually followed through with one of my promises for once! Not a major feat, writing a blog entry about something that happened over the course of three days, but it was pretty nice that I was able to make something that wasn't at least a week long event more engaging than the Faith's Birthday entry. Though, really anything would be better than that. That gives me the idea to annotate that entry somehow to explain what the hell I'm talking about half the time. Maybe later. I dunno.

Secondly, I just finished watching the most recent episode of Always Sunny (Season 17, Episode 8), and I wanted to say, rest in peace to Lynne Marie Stewart. The show will certainly not be the same without her. And what a way to end a seventeen-season-long binge of a show. That episode was seriously a rollercoaster.
‎
And lastly, I wanted to explain what I've been up to and possibly tease a new entry while I'm at it. So to explain what I was doing, first I have to explain THE MAKENZIE DETRAY EXPERIENCE. I've been on YouTube for 10 years now. You can look for yourself on the random uploads account. And last year, I decided I wanted to keep track of everything I've done on the internet, so I created a playlist and added every single video I've ever uploaded or been in since I started back in 2016. I titled that playlist THE MAKENZIE DETRAY EXPERIENCE.

Now, recently, I looked at the playlist and realized I was missing a video I thought I had in it, but as I went looking for said video, I found many more that I'd never even posted. Tons more! Four hour long recordings of Discord calls, unfinished animations I'd spent weeks on, and tons and tons of unpublished original and cover songs. That's when I decided that the playlist wouldn't just be a compilation of everything I'd published, but an archive of everything I've ever made... Or something similar. I mean, everything I've ever made is certainly a stretch. Anyways, I've spent the past three days adding to that playlist. Compiling videos, converting audio, and figuring out a way to make my blog entries into useable files for YouTube.

And considering how long this took and how many crazy reveals there were, I thought it might be interesting to make a blog entry about. I mean, it would be nice to get more than one out every two months, and I did recently try one about a non-major event, so it could be fun to try my hand at. Could also be a good excuse to delve into some of my history so the four people that look at my site who haven't met me in real life can get to know me better. Speaking of, it'd be cool to do entries about past stuff in general. The Friendly Bucko Drama is one that I'm sure could use some coverage. Not that the vast majority of you know what that is... Anyways, yea. Don't expect anything crazy, but don't not expect anything uncrazy, either.

And who knows, one day I might even make THE MAKENZIE DETRAY EXPERIENCE public. Maybe.

Hi! I'm back. I know, very soon by my standards, but I just wanted to say a few things.
‎
First of all, there may be a new blog entry in the works. I'm not sure if I'll follow through with making it just yet, but it was a pretty cool experience nonetheless. Me and my younger brother got to spend around two days completely on our own. I know he didn't enjoy it too much since he had all his animals to take care of, but I did. Maybe you'll see why in the blog entry. I dunno~! I mean, I'm kinda convincing myself to write it just by typing out this entry, so it'll probably happen.
‎
And second, I just thought it was cool to say, but I finally followed through with the big idea I had to turn all my subpage headers into a template for easy reuse. It was a bit tough figuring it out, but after stealing and reworking some code (as you do when you're not very good at coding), I managed to get it all working! So that's exciting! Means less work cut out for me with each entry, and that means that it could possibly cut down the time between said entries. I dunno! We'll see!

But that's all there is for now. The Beetlejuice JR blog entry is out, and I'd recommend reading it. It's my longest one so far. Not my best, though. I think I meander a bit too much in it for my liking, but CERTAINLY not my worst. Props go to "Faith's Birthday Part 2" for that one. But that's all from me. Byeeee!

Hello again! I wanted to give a little update on things since I haven’t in a while.
‎
First and foremost, I updated the homepage layout of the website! (Mostly the photo carousel.) I tried to do something similar late last month but it ended up looking bad. Thankfully, I was able to revert it using a Wayback Machine archive of the site I made a while ago that I didn’t think would amount to anything. I suppose I was wrong.
‎
Onto some bigger news, Beetlejuice JR just wrapped up performances a few days ago and BOY do I have a lot to say! So do definitely expect a new entry about that relatively soon. Now, we didn’t have the recording rights for the show, but one of my friends was able to have their parent record a few sections! I’m compiling them as we speak and said recordings will make their way into the performances section of this page once it’s uploaded.

And now for some even BIGGER news (though it might only just be big news for me honestly), unless relationship dynamics change drastically in the span of a couple months, I should be starting HRT pretty soon! I met another trans girl at Beetlejuice JR and she offered to give me some of her hormones once she starts on them, which happens to only be in a few months! So that’s pretty exciting!

And before I go, I want to say that I should probably stop announcing projects here as if I’m going to finish them because in all likelihood, I won’t. That game I made concept art for? Probably won’t be made for some time. There’s a musical I started writing, but I’m not sure if I’ll end up finishing it. I move on from things just fast enough to not be able to finish them. It sucks. Hopefully soon though I’ll get some content on my YouTube channel. I’ve got a couple video ideas I’ve been working through, and I think I might be close to starting work on one about the movie House on Haunted Hill (1959) , but we’ll see.
